Built on an island located in front of the southern tip of the Malacca Peninsula Singapore is a city-state inhabited by many ethnic groups but is Singapore accessible to travelers who use a wheelchair?
\nSure it is but I’ll answer later.<\/p>\n

Each ethnic group has recreated in a different part of the city its new homeland reminiscent of their original one: Little India, China Town, Arab Street, Kampong Glam (the Malay Quarter),…
\nAll these communities coexist in a balance managed with a firm hand by the government of the Republic of Singapore.
\nSingapore is a mixture of extreme modernity and areas where traditional houses with arcades, street-level shops and merchant houses on the upper floors are preserved.<\/p>\n

Singapore accessibility<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Accessibility<\/strong> is at western levels (even if in the areas of old houses sometimes steps abound) indeed it is better than accessibility in various western countries.<\/p>\n

Many hotels<\/strong> are equipped with accessible rooms (with roll in shower) and accessible common areas.<\/p>\n

There are vehicles<\/strong> with hydraulic platforms that can be rented with a driver.
\nAlmost all public transport buses and the metro network are wheelchair accessible.
\nThere are accessible taxis that can be booked on request.<\/p>\n

Aids<\/strong> such as wheelchairs, mobility scooters, medical beds, … can be rented.<\/p>\n

Staff are available for medical, nursing, personal and tourist assistance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

All tourist attractions<\/strong> are wheelchair accessible as are shopping malls, …<\/p>\n

So Singapore accessible to travelers!<\/p>\n

The problem with Singapore, if it can be called that, is that it is much more expensive than the other countries in the region.<\/p>\n

A stay in Singapore can be part of a trip to any of the South East Asian nations.
\nSingapore is connected with direct flights to major Western cities and offers one of the richest shopping in Asia.
\nTo see Singapore you’ll need 3\/4 days.
\nA stay in full confort, with high-level accessibility, can be the perfect end to an interesting, but perhaps a little adventurous, journey!<\/p>\n
